As an already fully trained hairdresser, Franz Ströher is on the way to Paris to be inspired by the latest trends in hair fashion. In 1894, the demand is already so enormous that Ströher can open his first factory in Rothenkirchen. 24. Ströhers protect the company name Wella – based on "wave" – at the patent office. Innovation has always been the driving force at Wella: In the mid-1930s, the first hair dryers with a built-in motor were introduced, whose movable tubes allowed the head more freedom of movement during the drying process - and transformed hair care into an all-round feel-good experience. Thanks to its continued success, the company expands across Europe and also into the USA, where the Wella Corporation is established.
