This drum measures 33cm across the rim and 61cm in height. It has a deeper sound than the djembe. This drum is made of cowhide leather that is not shaved. It has a very deep bass, and the hair contributes to this. Made of cowhide leather, it is extremely robust. This drum comes with 3 free instruments. It is fair trade and handmade in Ghana by professional African musicians. They are made for a beautiful sound. The drum body is made of African cedar (known as Tweneboa). This is a fast growing tree. All our woods are obtained under licence from the forestry in Ghana. Using this wood is less harmful to the environment than hardwood or fibreglass drums. These drums can be matched to our changeable weather. The drums are relatively light, much lighter than hardwood drums. They are easy to carry and very handy and are therefore particularly suitable for schools and workshop guides.
