With its eleven OSC models, the SH-4d offers a wide range of sound generation options. The range ranges from analog vintage synthesizers and PCM-based sounds to pioneering modern digital sounds. Also a flexible drum synthesizer with numerous possibilities for sound shaping is on board to build your own kits.

The new SH-4d model is inspired by the legendary Roland SH synthesizers and offers bold vintage sounds in analogue style based on up to four different waveforms. Or choose the SH-3D model where the fourth part is replaced with an additional LFO. Even a chord model for jamming and creating complex chord changes using single tones and simple slider movements is included.

With the SH-4d you have everything you need for professional sound design directly at hand. The controls are immediately accessible and sit on a well thought-out and dynamic control interface that allows you to work as quickly as your creativity demands.

With a total of 32 knobs, four sliders and a variety of multifunctional buttons, new sounds and performances are created from the moment. Depending on the selected mode, the display of the LCD screen and the functions of the sliders and buttons are automatically adjusted. So you no longer need to navigate through menus and can let your creative flow run wild.

Whether youre working on a sound or pattern, the filter, amplifier and LFO sections are always ready when it comes to shaping new material.

Multitimbral sequencing

The SH-4d sequencer is ready to use at any time to transform sound ideas into compact loops or extended compositions. The user interface is designed to make spontaneous sound development even more intuitive. With up to 60 polyphonic voices, there is enough processor power available to realise your musical ideas completely in the SH-4d.

Solid effects

The SH-4d is packed with famous Roland effects that allow you to refine your sounds and patterns, rougher or completely alienate. Using the intuitive controls and menus, you can access different effect types during your performance, change parameters, set send levels and much more.

Each sequencer part has a standalone MFX processor with 95 effect types. From filters, drive and lo-fi effects to delays, pitch shifters, phasers, flanges to the famous JUNO chorus - here you will always find the right effects for your style.

The SH-4d includes common chorus, delay, and reverb effects with send controls for each part as well as buttons on the user interface for quick activation/deactivation. In addition to an MFX processor on the pattern output, a global EQ and compressor are also available for fine tuning of the overall mix.

With its mobile design, the SH-4d is extremely versatile and fits into any creative scenario.

In larger hardware setups, the SH-4d impresses as a sound module and controller. In addition to the 5-pin MIDI connectors, a clock input and a 3.5 mm stereo audio input are available for AIRA Compact, Roland Boutique or other external instruments.

Powerful partner for your productions

The integrated USB-C audio/MIDI interface allows you to record twelve audio channels individually in your DAW. In addition, both the controls and the D-Motion and Visual Arpeggio function send CC messages, so you can use the SH-4d as a comprehensive control interface for software instruments and MIDI hardware if required.
