Six recording apps

MANUAL: This is the main app for multi-track recording with up to six audio sources and a stereo mix (2-mix).

Voice: This recording app is ideal for recording interviews, dictations and meetings.

PODCAST: Use this app to create podcasts with up to four people.

Music: Choose this app for recording instrumental and vocal pieces.

Field: Ideal for recording outdoor nature sounds.

ASMR: This recording app creates a visual effect on the display in response to the input signal.

High quality sound for movie recording

When developing the Portacapture X6, video production was also considered.

With its 32-bit float recording technology and a sampling rate of 96 kHz, the X6 keeps your back free. This means not only the highest sound quality, but also a dynamic range that allows you to master the less ideal conditions that often exist at a turn.

The X6 even gives you timecode sync* via Bluetooth (with the optional AK-BT1). So you can sync your audio recording with the image signal, even if your camera does not deliver sound.

Record how you like it

Do you have your own microphones? Use them on the built-in XLR inputs that can also process line level sources.

Tascam HDDA (High Definition Discrete Architecture) are used in the microphone preamplifiers. Based on more than 50 years of know-how, they offer an extremely low-noise and clean, transparent sound experience.

Record six tracks (four single tracks plus stereo mixing) simultaneously and even use X6 as a USB audio interface with six inputs and two outputs for your computer.

Capture every detail

It would be nice if everything was always perfect with an audio recording. Not too loud, not too quiet. Of course, this is not the reality for most of us. Sometimes a voice or sound is quite quiet, sometimes roaring loud. Even with these extremes, you expect the recording to succeed and you deliver a clean result.

The Portacapture X6s 32-bit flow point recording technology provides a substantially lower lower lower limit and a higher upper limit for the level of the sound material. The result: Your recording simply captures everything from the quietest rustling to the loudest spectacle.

Control the recorder via your mobile phone

If you want to set up your audio recorder in a specific location and operate it from another, the X6 is for you.

With the AK-BT1 Bluetooth adapter (sold separately) and the free app Portacapture Control, you can easily control your X6 wirelessly from your smartphone or tablet.

High quality stereo microphones

Portacapture X6 is ready to record in a few quick steps.

The built-in high-quality stereo microphones can be switched from A-B to X-Y orientation in no time at all, so that spatial music recordings are just as good as voice recordings.

Ready to Release Audio Files Anywhere

With the Portacapture X6, your sound recordings are quickly ready to share. The integrated signal processing with compressor, limiter, high-pass filter, EQ and hall effect provides the finishing touch like in the recording studio.

You can tame the wind when shooting outside or add more atmosphere to your vocals with a reverber. From smoothing the input signal to avoiding extreme level peaks or eliminating plosive sounds in dialogue, the X6 will keep you well equipped.
