Description

If additional consumers are only to be switched on when the engine is running (the alternator provides electricity) or if the on-board battery is to be charged via a cut-off relay by connecting the on-board and starter battery, then the D+ contact of the alternator is usually used to control a relay. However, this contact is often not accessible in the vehicle, no longer available in newer alternators, not available in a container construction or voltage-dependent control should generally be carried out. This is where the VOTRONIC D+ simulator creates a solution. It generates a corresponding signal for a subsequent powerful (disconnect) relay, voltage controlled (e.g. from the starter battery). Further uses arise when controlling additional consumers that should only be activated when the battery is adequately charged, such as switching on an air conditioning system in driving mode or switching a refrigerator, a cold or heat box to 12 V on-board mode. Intelligent voltage evaluation of the switching thresholds avoids incorrect control in the event of voltage drops or peaks. Dynamic threshold detection also avoids oscillation around the switching points when switching very large loads. The switching status is displayed by a light emitting diode. The electronics are protected against moisture, the connection is made in the rear clamping space by a plug-in screw terminal. The switching output is loaded with 12 V / 0.5 A, short-circuit and overload resistant and of the type PNP, plus output, load on the ground side.
