Shimano Iron Works, the predecessor of Shimano Inc., was established in 1921 by Shozaburo Shimano in Sakai city, Osaka Japan. The first production was the bicycle single freewheel, required the greatest technical skill to produce. In 1951, the companys name changed to Shimano Industrial Co., LTD. Shimano Europe is a member of the global team Shimano and along with our world-renowned subsidiaries we offer consumers outstanding cycling, fishing and rowing products and apparel. Our mission is to be an excellent supplier and a valuable partner for all our customers in the European bicycle, fishing tackle and rowing industry, to create consumer demand for Shimano and Shimano-owned products, and to be the eyes, ears and mouth of the global team Shimano in Europe.
