Description

The MAX Control is a double broken bit that is not distinguishable from conventional double-broken mouthpieces at first glance.
However, this is a correction and training bit that blocks from a certain angle and acts similar to a bar.
This effect is very gentle in practice, as the bit clings very well to the tongue and lower jaw with normal leaning.
Only with stronger reins suit does the more intense and effective effect apply by turning the mouthpiece into the bar.
Pelhams are bits with additional leverage on the neck.
Pressure is also applied to the lower jaw via the chin chain.
In some way, they represent a fusion of the curb and underlay bridle.
Pelhams can be ridden with either one or two pairs of reins, resulting in several buckling options.
When the reins are hooked into the bridle ring, the Pelham only works on the tongue and the lower load.
If horses tend to pull their head up, it makes sense to buckle a reins in the ring on the undertree because then pressure is applied to the neck.
The horse tries to avoid this pressure by lowering the head.
To ensure that the horse does not get too deep, the chin chain should work at a maximum of 45° (lower tree to the mouth gap).
It is most useful to ride with two pairs of reins, because you can then apply the pressure on the neck when you need it.
Pelham is often used in the Pelham strap.
This strap is buckled in the upper and lower reins ring, a pair of reins is then attached.
