The Celtic Cross is a universal symbol, several 1,000 years old. Celtic crosses always combine the traditional cross shape with a circle. The circle symbolises the sun wheel, the power of the sun that flows onto us every day, the female. It represents wholeness, for the spirit, for the unity with everything that is. The Celtic cross symbolises the material reality. It represents the four directions of the foremost, the four elements and the four phases of the moon, the male. It combines femininity in the circle and masculinity in the cross. In general, the Celtic Cross represents the power of the mind as it penetrates and invigorates material.
