Meaning:

• The Germanic god Thor had, according to legends, the magical hammer Mjölnir. He used this hammer as a weapon, because he never missed his target and was thrown, so he returned to the hand of Thor. In addition, the god could call out storm, lightning and thunder with his hammer. Therefore, it was called Donar (derived from Donner) by the Germans in Central Europe, present-day Germany.
