TRUST PRAYER TO HOLY BENEDICT

THE MEANING OF THE MEDAL SYMBOLS

The front of the medal carries the image of the saint who holds the cross in the right and the rule in the left hand; on his right, a cup from which a viper escapes (reminder of the poisoned wine he miraculously escaped); on the left a crow takes the poisoned bread away. Below are the words: EX S.M. CASINO MDCCCLXXX" (From Sacro Monte Cassino 1880). On both sides "CRUX SANCTI PATRIS BENEDICTI" (Cross of the Holy Father Benedict).
