You dont want to compromise on your music

Forget about assembly belt and mass production

A great sound isnt everything. Your instrument must feel like it is a part of you - and this feeling of connection is often further enhanced by handmade custom designs.

We cooperate with Spanish cajon master José Hernández Diaz (known as "Pepote") to build Meinl Artisan Edition Cajons together with us. Pepote is an exceptionally talented artisan and musician whose craftsmanship enhances the cajon in a way you may not know it was possible.

We thought a lot about wood combinations, the strings individually adjusted and shaped the body for a spectacular feel. With Pepote, we have developed a series of cajons that embody the spirit of craftsmanship.

The Meinl Artisan Edition Tango Line Cajon

Resonant body

For the body of the cajon, we have used 7-ply (9 mm) Baltic birch wood, which is equipped with inserts. Baltic birch is often used in high-end drum sets as it offers a focused sound with a large range of tones.

Striking surface

The beautiful Limba front plate has a textured surface for an improved playing feel,

from finger rolls and ghost notes to strong backbeats.

The feeling of playing is important

Its a fantastic feeling when you sit on this cajon and get a feeling of the depth of sound and the incredibly detailed craftsmanship - with just a simple finger stroke on the front plate.

Powerful bass with crisp snare slap tones

The basis for sound development in this

Cajon is in the wood combination - Baltic Birch and Limba. Together these types of wood produce a naturally deep and clear bass tone with a very precise response. The bright Limba front plate is also strikingly beautiful with its highly contrasting light and dark grain.

Pre-tuned, micro-wound steel cajon strings

Hand-wound steel strings spread across the entire length of the striking surface inside the cajon, ensuring clear, precise and sensitive snare response.

On each side of the playing surface there are three pre-tuned strings that give the cajons a crisp, precise snare effect.

Contoured face

The exquisite Limba playing surface is rounded at the corners and sanded to form thumb notches in which your hands lie in their natural position. This allows you to have an exceptional playing experience and more comfort.

The striking surface is ground and shaped to match the body of the cajon. Each resonant body has a striking surface specially designed for it.
