Feature

●Thin prayer cord for the wrist in orange.
●The prayer cord is part of the official clothing of Eastern Church monks as well as nuns. It is used by religious (and sometimes others) to count how many times one has prayed the Jesus prayer (or occasionally other prayers). Historically, the prayer cord usually had 100 knots, although prayer cords with 50 or 33 knots are also used today. Hermits can have prayer cords with up to 300 or 500 knots in their cells.
●The Orthodox Church considers the prayer cord to be the sword of the Spirit because prayer, which comes from the heart and inspired by the grace of the Holy Spirit, is a weapon that conquers the devil.
●One size fits all that adapts to the wrist. The colour of the beads may vary.
●A prayer cord (Greek: κομποσκοθν¬, komboskini; Russian: чётки, chotki (most common term) or вервица, vervitsa (literal translation); Romanian: metanii/metanier; Macedonian and Serbian: броееее ероее ерое ероее ероее ерое , broyanitsa, Bulgarian: brоеница, broyenitsa) is a bow of complex knots.

Description

The prayer cord symbolises the whip with which Christ was beaten, but in modern times other materials are also used. The traditional color of the rope is black (symbolizing grief over ones own sins), with either black or coloured beads. The beads (if they are coloured) and at least part of the tassel are traditionally red. This symbolises the blood of Christ and the blood of the martyrs. Recently, however, prayer cords have been growing in a variety of colors. The prayer usually holds the prayer cord in his left hand when praying so that the right hand remains free for crossing. When not in use, the prayer cord is traditionally wrapped around the left wrist so that it continues to remind the wearer to pray without ceasing. If this is impractical, it can be placed in the (left) pocket, but should not be hung around the neck or on the belt. The reason for this restraint is that one should not wear the prayer cord intrusive or conspicuous for other people. During your tonsure (religious practice), Orthodox monks and nuns receive a prayer string with the words: Oh brother (sister) (name), accept the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God (Ephesians 6:17) in the eternal Jesus prayer, with which you will receive the name of the Lord in your soul, your thought, and your heart and everagain again says: "Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me sinners!"
