Description
Shungite is a 2 billion-year-old stone found only in one of the Zazhoginsky deposits in the Karelia region of northwest Russia. In history, Peter the Great of Russia transformed sources in the region where shungite was present into the first healing baths. People in the region have been using shungite in their water for centuries and seen its benefits without understanding the reason. Now, science is beginning to catch up with these practices, as shungite is 30 times more effective than carbon in removing pollutants from the water in laboratory studies. These include substances such as heavy metals and other impurities as well as bacteria and organic impurities commonly found in drinking water. Another exciting discovery about shungite in recent years has been that shungite contains "fullerenes". Fullerenes are football like molecules first synthesized in a lab in 1985. It was later discovered that Mother Nature had already provided a natural source of fullerenes with shungite. When we create shungite water by treating our water with shungite or elite shungite, our shungite water contains these natural fullerens.
